—The motif of this bead is “the mysterious stone which two fish live in” to be introduced as the legendary treasure in a Japanese old folktale.
  When the surface of the stone is polished carefully,  the surface  comes to be transparent and we can watch two fish live in the stone. Looking at the beautiful fish in the stone every day, it is said that the person can live for a long time…..

“Piscisite” is a coined word of the meanings fish stone by me.
(“Piscis” means fish,  “-ite” suffix is derived from the Greek word lithos meaning rock or stone).

Some species of fishes are found in the group of the fish stone.
The fish of  the upper picture are “species C (sp. C)”.

Materials: lead glass and soda glass (SATAKE GLASS).
